When the USS Newark, carrier of an experimental military cargo, is recovered after two months lost at sea, the government sends in a salvage team to regain the cargo. Lead by Dr. Carly Ryan, head of the original project, the team finds most of the original crew dead as well as low-level radiation leaking from the ship’s reactor. As members of the team fall prey to the monstrous dwellers onboard, Dr. Ryan discloses that several scorpions were genetically enhanced for biological warfare. Now the surviving crew members must fight off an onslaught of overgrown mutant scorpions while risking radioactive exposure themselves.
